The original log home was built in 1890, with additions built-in 1990. There are 7 private acres with 3 barns on the property and plenty of apple trees. The Bruce Trail is located minutes from this cottage, and you are within a short hike to "Devil's Monument" - one of the many geological wonders of the Bruce Peninsula.
It is peaceful and quiet at Applewood so pull up a chair relax and enjoy the sound of nature overlooking meadows flowing with wildflowers.
In the spring and fall, Dyer's Bay is a focal point for birders in the Bruce Peninsula. The Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory records hundreds of migrating birds that cross over this area each spring and fall. Not only birds can be seen in Dyers Bay, but many other creatures can be seen here. Black bears, coyotes, minks, and red squirrels to name a few are also regular visitors in the neighborhood.
Fishing is at its best in Dyer's Bay. There is a municipal Dock located minutes from Applewood retreat, and from here you can fish for prize-winning salmon and trout in the cold deep waters of Georgian Bay
