Lion's Head, Bruce Peninsula is a peaceful port village, located on the shores of Isthmus bay. Surrounded by beautiful limestone cliffs which, when viewed from Georgian Bay, resemble the head of a lion, giving Lion's Head it's name. Lion's Head is also located at the 45th parallel - exactly halfway between the equator and the north pole.

Lion's Head, Bruce Peninsula
is still an active port town. In the past, lumber and fish were exported and passenger ships regularly visited the port. Now, Lion's Head provides a perfect spot for anglers, boaters and sailors. There is a full service marina with transient docks for visitors, a boat launch and many hotels, B&B's and cottages for rent for those who wish to stay and experience Lion's Head's hospitality.
For those wanting the great outdoors experience, the famous Bruce Trail runs through Lion's Head on it's way to some of the most spectacular hiking trails in Ontario. Gun Point route is an example of the Bruce Trail, but is only for those up to the challenge, as it is a rough hike, but is worth it in the end to be able to stand on the edge of the escarpment with a perfect view of Georgian Bay. Hikers will enjoy the Lion's Head Nature Reserve as well.
For the art lover, Lion's Head has artist studios, shops and galleries. For shoppers, there is a grocery store, convenience store, a liquor store, fuel, pet food store, video rentals and many boutiques to browse. Lion's Head also has a medical clinic, hospital, churches and a nursing home, making this a community full of conveniences.
